Do you remember the children’s game tug of war? Are you skilled with wordplay? If so, we have the game for you! GSN is looking for contestants for upcoming seasons of the show! Allow us to introduce you to Tug Of Words, an original game show on the Game Show Network where two teams compete to see who can beat a series of word-clue questions and win $10,000.
Tug Of Words is hosted by Samantha Harris and produced by the Game Show Network. The game consists of three rounds where two teams of two are given time to answer as many questions as possible. Rounds 1 and 2 are split into two turns, where each team gets a chance to play. On each turn, the teams are given 40 seconds to answer as many word puzzles as possible by changing just one letter of a single word.
To start, the team is shown four words, of which they must choose one word to receive the next clue. Once the timer begins, the team must change only one letter in the existing word to get the next clue. Each correct answer moves the tug of war flag one step closer to their side.
Each team’s turn in the round begins with 30 seconds on the clock, but they can earn a 10-second bonus by correctly answering five questions. During their turns, each team member must take turns guessing the clues and must allow Samantha enough time to read the entire clue before offering a guess. A team member’s guess will not be accepted if they speak too soon or out of turn, even if the answer is correct.
After each team takes its turn, the team that has the flag on its side wins the flag. If the flag returns to its starting place, neither team wins the flag.
Round 1 consists of three-letter words, and the left team begins the game. Round 2 is played using four-letter words, and the right team goes first. The third round is played using five-letter words, and the team with the most flags from the first two rounds begins.
In Round 3, each team is only given two words to start, but the clock is increased to 45 seconds. With these words, two letters will be changed to create a new word. At the end of the final round, the team with the flag on their side wins the game and earns $1,000. But the best part is that the winning team then plays the bonus round, where they can win $10,000.
So, if you're over the age of 18 and skilled in trivia and wordplay, this is your chance to compete. Just don’t forget to find a friend, as this game show requires teams of two participants!
