Nationwide Casting Call
Have you always dreamed of moving into the Big Brother house?
Then we have some excellent news for you! CBS is currently accepting applications for upcoming seasons of Big Brother, so apply now and don’t miss this unique opportunity!
For those who are unfamiliar, Big Brother is a reality television show that houses a large group of strangers in a palatial home where they are isolated from the outside world and filmed at all times. The goal is to remain in the game without getting evicted for a chance to win a hefty cash prize. Each season lasts about three months and includes 10 and 17 participants.
Though other versions of the show rely on audience votes for evictions, the US version of Big Brother places that power in the hands of the other housemates. For this reason, the contestants are not allowed to influence each other’s decisions and formulate eviction plans, but they can create alliances.
Moreover, special powers have been added, including the Power of Veto and Head of Household, thus making this version of Big Brother like no other in the world.
Each week, houseguests compete to achieve the Head of Household status. If you're lucky enough to be deemed as HOH, you’ll move into a private suite and receive photos or gifts from home. And with these perks also comes the responsibility of naming two people who will face eviction.
Once you’ve determined the two people who face eviction, you must announce the nominees to the rest of the housemates during a ceremony. You will be expected to give a speech and provide valid reasons for choosing the two nominees.
Just beware, since Big Brother 3, the Power of Veto has been allowing nominees to save themselves from the chopping block. In the current version of Big Brother, three houseguests are allowed to compete in this competition. The winner is awarded the power to save a nominee, at which time the HOH will have to choose someone else. Yet, the original nominations remain unchanged if the POV holder does not use the veto.
As we mentioned, this current Big Brother format allows houseguests to strategize by forming alliances, which helps further people in the game. Alliances are formed when all members of the union are loyal to each other and work together throughout to win the game. Though not every housemate joins an alliance, it can be a great strategy if you’re working with good people.
When it comes time for eviction, each housemate must spend time in the Diary Room deciding who to evict. The person with the most votes is evicted. It’s worth noting that if you're the HOH, you will not be allowed to cast a vote unless the results end in a tie that you will break.
If you're evicted from the Big Brother house, you become a jury member. This is a crucial role, as the 7 to 9 jurors at the end of the season are the ones who select the game-winner.
If you’re looking for a change and would love to get away from the monotony of life for three months, consider applying to be on the upcoming seasons of Big Brother. You never know - you may just have the time of your life and walk away with $750,000.
